Profile Claim Policy
Last updated: June 6, 2026. We review this page periodically and will note material changes here.
Listed professionals can claim their CPAZenith profile to control their information, respond to reviews, and route leads. This policy describes who may claim, how we verify, what claiming unlocks, and how disputes are handled.
1. Who may claim a profile
A profile may be claimed only by:
- The named licensee whose name and license number appear on the profile, or
- An authorized representative of that licensee with documented written authority (for example, an owner or partner of the firm authorized in writing to act on the licensee's behalf).
Firm-level profiles (where applicable) may be claimed by an owner, managing partner, or designated administrator.
2. Verification of a claim
We typically verify a claim with one or more of the following:
- Match of name and license number against the issuing authority's public records;
- Confirmation via an email address at the firm's domain;
- A signed (and, in some cases, notarized) attestation;
- Where needed, a brief live video verification or a copy of a current license certificate.
We collect only what we reasonably need to confirm authority and we delete supporting documents after verification, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
3. What claiming unlocks
- Edit bio, services, specialties, photos, and contact information;
- Receive routed consultation leads;
- Post a single right-of-reply per review, subject to the Review Moderation Policy;
- View basic listing-performance analytics.
4. What stays platform-controlled
- The license/verification badge state — issued under the Verification Policy;
- Identity fields tied to the underlying public-records source (legal name, license number, jurisdiction);
- The visibility and ordering of reviews;
- Public-records-derived content, except as adjustable through a redaction request (see Data Removal).
5. Accuracy and conduct
Once a profile is claimed, the claimant is responsible for the accuracy of editable fields and must not:
- Misrepresent credentials, scope of practice, jurisdictional reach, or affiliations;
- Use the profile to harass, defame, or solicit reviewers;
- Solicit prohibited or undisclosed compensation arrangements (see the Referral Disclosure);
- Otherwise violate our Terms of Service or applicable professional rules.
6. Disputed claims
If two or more parties claim the same profile, we will request documentation from each and decide based on the totality of evidence — generally favoring the named licensee or an authorized representative of the licensee. We aim to resolve disputes within 15 business days. While a dispute is open, the profile may be temporarily frozen.
7. Revocation of a claim
We may revoke a claim, with notice where reasonable, for:
- Fraud, material misrepresentation, or impersonation;
- Revocation, suspension, or surrender of the underlying professional license;
- Repeated violations of these policies or the Terms of Service;
- Legal order.
Revocation may include removal of edits, return of the listing to its public-records baseline, or removal of the listing entirely. You may appeal a revocation by emailing hello@cpazenith.com.
8. Transfers
A profile is tied to the individual licensee. On firm sale, departure, retirement, or death, the claim does not automatically transfer. Successors should contact us at hello@cpazenith.com with documentation; we will work in good faith to update or close the profile appropriately.
